An excellent initiative to give Carnival enthusiasts a reminder of how they can Drink and Live Responsibly for this season and beyond.

A passion for movement has encouraged me to grow as a business woman and an individual. Often I hum or sing the song "No man is an island, no man stands alone. Each man's joy is joy to me, each man's grief is my own. We need one another so I will defend each man as my brother, each man as my friend." This song reminds me of the importance of asking for help and collaborating with others. And in hosting my second annual fitness fete - RELEASE I recognized how much more I can accomplish by asking for help and collaborating. I am a dreamer, a creative; and sometimes I'm able to see the whole floor pattern as well as the individual tiles but sometimes I need help to see the individual tile. I feel blessed to have persons who have been working with me on this project for the past 2 years, who have helped it to grow to what you see now; and equally grateful to now have others who are interested in coming on board to help elevate it even more. Fear may be present but I am looking forward to accomplishing all my wild dreams! #grateful #business #fitness #creative #help #project #collaboration #teamwork

Mood: Grateful. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this PAHO Conference held in Saint Lucia hosted by the Ministry of Health. The staff really practice what they preach by incorporating active breaks during the workshop and a full Socacize session. We definitely need more of this, especially the activity breaks. The theme was Working Together to Achieve Good Health. I definitely am grateful to be a part of the together adding my little spice and movement. #health #grateful #opportunity

This is your friendly reminder to move your body. A few weeks ago I posted about being a part of the St. Lucia Moves campaign designed to encourage Saint Lucians to be more physically active. I am elated to say that the Ministry of Health invited me back this time to share with their staff how they can take a wellness break at their desks. Yes, you read right. Taking a wellness movement break is important. From improving your posture to increasing endorphins, taking that work pause and moving the body helps us be the best version of us. It's all part of finding that balance and after all #BalanceIsBest ... #work #health #wellness #movement

I am a teacher, not a parent, but I feel compelled to share something I believe about parenting after being an educator for 10 years - Part One.I have heard "modern parents" say the things I did not have I want my child to have them. And this mindset often results in the child attaining a lot of material things. What about the emotional support that we did not receive from our parents because they did not have the capacity or ability to provide it? This is your opportunity to be there for your child in ways that you did not receive.And what about the things you did have? The values, the morals, the manners, the respect. The holistic development of the child is necessary. Yes providing the tangible wants and needs are great but impart the value of attaining these items, impart morals and values to help these children evolve into responsible, empathy, industrious adults that can then mold the future generations and support the previous. My job as a teacher is to scaffold the learning (hard and soft skills) that parents have began with their children. The school cannot raise a child on it's own. Neither can a parent do it on their own. We are working together to support each other. #teacher #learning #parenting #school #future #mindset #empathy

This week the Ministry of Health shared some data on the percentage of Saint Lucians who are overweight or obese and those figures are ALARMING to say the least.And Saint Lucia isn't the only country in the region suffering with obesity and non-communicable diseases. These negative health trends sparked the creation of Caribbean Moves initiative with the local branch being St. Lucia Moves through the Ministry of Health. Although Music Month is celebrated in November, I believe this year's theme should be applicable for life. "If the music is good, you dance." And dance I did last night at Ronald Boo Hinkson's Show The World Concert. Simply AMAZING. From the young protégés to the master himself, it truly was an extraordinary experience.
